CBD is, without a doubt, one of the hottest products on the market today. It’s also one which generates no shortage of confusion – after all, CBD was only legalized in the United States with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. However, despite its relative newness to the marketplace, CBD has become extremely popular, with an estimated 1 in 7 Americans having already tried the substance. As a result, the CBD industry has shown massive growth, with one study estimating that CBD will generate $22 billion by 2022.
Because CBD was legalized so recently, many have been left wondering how it can potentially help them. It’s important to note that a slew of research is still ongoing to figure out CBD’s benefits and the consequences of long-term use. However, already conducted research and countess anecdotal stories have demonstrated that there may be a real benefit to CBD use.

All of the above benefits do have some scientific backing, but they have yet to be confirmed by the bulk of the scientific community or the Food and Drug Administration. However, the FDA has approved the use of one CBD-based drug: Epidiolex, which is used in the treatment of two rare seizure disorders in children (Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and Dravet Syndrome). As an FDA approved drug, Epidiolex can be prescribed by any qualified doctor, purchased at any regular drug store, and submitted for reimbursement by to any private insurance company.
CBD may have more significant benefits than this, an ongoing research will confirm whether or not these benefits are real or a placebo effect. Furthermore, you should always consult with a medical professional before starting CBD, as CBD may have some negative interactions with certain types of drugs.
However, initial research has been positive, and it does appear that CBD has the potential to be very helpful in dealing with a variety of physical and emotional problems.
